The Ferry Building dock is located at the South Terminal (Gate E),
located
approximately one block from Pier 1/2 on the south side of the Ferry
Building.
How far is the S.F. Ferry Building from Pier 41?
Pier 41 is approximately 1.5 miles up the Embarcadero from the Ferry
Building. One can walk the distance in approximately 15 minutes.

Is the Alameda/Oakland Ferry the Blue and Gold Fleet Ferry?
The Alameda/Oakland Ferry is a publicly subsidized public transit
system operated by the City of Alameda and the Port of Oakland.
Blue & Gold Fleet provides maritime services for the ferry service
under contract with the City of Alameda.

a) The San Francisco Ferry Building?
During weekday morning commute hours (6 to 9 a.m.), trip time is
20 minutes. During midday and on weekends, trip time is 40 minutes.
b) San Francisco's Pier 41?
Trip time is 50 minutes.
How far is Pier 41 from PIER 39? From Fisherman's Wharf?
Pier 41 is located immediately adjacent to the PIER 39 Entertainment
complex. Pier 41 is three blocks from Fisherman's Wharf.
Is there ferry service from the East Bay to Marin destinations
such as Sausalito or Tiburon?
No. East Bay/Marin service has been under discussion but there are
no current plans to begin the service.
Can I take a ferry to Sausalito? Tiburon?
Ferry service to Marin is available only from San Francisco.
a) Golden Gate Transit Ferry Service operates from the SF Ferry
Building to Sausalito and Tiburon.
b) Blue & Gold Fleet operates to Tiburon from both the Ferry
Building and Pier 41.
c) Blue & Gold Fleet operates to Sausalito from pier 41.
Can I bring a gasoline powered bike on the Ferry?
No. U.S. Coast Guard regulations do not permit it.

How do Alameda County's Measure
B funds support the Ferry Service?
On November 7, 2001, Alameda County voters approved the reauthorization
of the continuation of Measure B. Measure B provides for a one-half
cent transaction and use tax to be used to fund public transportation.
Measure B earmarked 0.78% of net revenues for the Alameda ferries.
Alameda ferries consist of the Alameda/Oakland and Alameda Harbor
Bay services. Over Measure B’s 20-year life span, total Alameda
ferries Measure B revenues are projected to be $11,146,405. Collection
of reauthorized Measure B revenue began in April 2002.
Measure B revenues are used to off set operational
and capital expenses for both the Alameda Harbor Bay and Alameda
Oakland ferry services. For FY ‘02/03, proposed Measure B
expenditures are $453,855 for ferry operations and $15,000 for capital
projects.
