Accessibility

The Ports of Oakland and Alameda are both wheelchair accessible, and have accessible parking and restrooms. The vessels used for the ferry service are also wheelchair accessible. Dock and gangway ramps used to embark and disembark from the ferry have reduced slopes and an accessible restroom is available on the Encinal (the Peralta’s bathroom will be modified in 2008). Passengers using wheelchairs have multiple seating options at locations interspersed throughout the ships. Our friendly port staff and deck hands are happy to provide any additional assistance requested by passengers with disabilities.
