Peralta Off-Line for Scheduled Upgrades Beginning this Friday, January 11, the Peralta will go off-line for scheduled maintenance and upgrades. Scheduled work includes dry-docking and U.S. Coast Guard inspection, ADA upgrades for the accessible restroom, and the installation of new "Tier 2" main engines. "Tier 2" engines meet the current most stringent EPA established emission standards for marine engines of this size and class. The engine replacement project is funded by the Bay Area Air Quality Management District Carl Moyer Program and the Metropolitan Transportation Commission's Regional Measure 1-2 Bridge Toll Program. The Peralta is expected to return to service by the end of February. Until the Peralta's return, the Encinal will operate as the primary boat backed-up by one or more of the Blue and Gold Fleet boats. Your patience and understanding during this period is appreciated.
