Alameda Terminal Closed on April 14 and 15

The service to and from the Alameda Main Street Ferry Terminal will be temporarily suspended on Saturday and Sunday, April 14 and 15, 2007. The two-day suspension is needed to permit the scheduled re-installation of a docking barge that has been undergoing refurbishment at an Alameda shipyard. The two-day Alameda service suspension will not affect ferry operations between Oakland and San Francisco. The Main Street Ferry Terminal will resume operations at 6:00 AM on Monday, April 16, 2007.

The barge refurbishment project began on February 17, 2007, when the barge was detached from the Main Street Ferry Terminal and transported to the shipyard. To permit continued ferry operations, the old barge was replaced with a stand-in dock chartered by the City.
